One of this
lab's goals is to conduct research that integrates daylighting
with the building's envelope and lighting systems. See
Tips for Daylighting with Windows/CoolRoofs/: LBL Heat
Island Group: has developed the Solar Reflectivity Index
(SRI), a measure of how well a material rejects solar
heat.
The National
Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) located in Morgantown,
West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Tulsa, Oklahoma,
is a multi-purpose laboratory, owned and operated by the
U.S. Department of Energy. It conducts and implements
science and technology development programs for the DOE
and energy-related environmental systems.
This
Lab's current focus is on the development of lightweight
autos, "smart" buildings, and researching a
variety of energy-related technologies. In addition, PNL
has an Economic Development Office which may be of assistance
in matching your capital campaign goals with prospective
partners/sponsors for more information go to the PHL website.
A partner in
the National Center for Photvoltaics and funded by DOE's
Office of Solar Energy Technologies. Responsible for creating
and distributing a variety of publications on photovoltaics
systems and their applications. Most of the publications
in their impressive library are available for free. For
a complete list, fax them a request. Website links to
gov't agencies devoted to solar energy and members of
the commercial PV industry. Another terrific resource
is SUN_LAB, a collaborative effort between Sandia and
NREL to use virtual technology to assist industry in developing
and commercializing solar power.
